Synod on Synodality page created!

Have you heard of the Synod on Synodality? Although we’re still making arrangements behind-the-scenes, now is a great time to begin learning about how you can participate – both in offering your own contributions as well as inviting others to join!

Over at our parish website, we’ve created a page for the Synodal Process. We’ll be updating the page as we approach lift-off for the various listening sessions – we hope to see you there!

New Year’s weekend schedule

Good morning,

Merry Christmas and happy New Years Eve! Thank you for your patience as we waited for the most recent developments in the weather forecast for this weekend.

Despite the cold weather snap, we will stick with the schedule of Masses & confessions that is in the bulletin (see below). Please recall that today’s (Friday) evening Mass for the Solemnity of Mary (which is not a holy day of obligation this year) is cancelled. For your convenience, here is the weekend schedule:

New Year’s weekend schedule
Saturday, January 1
10:30 am – Mass for the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God
3:00 pm – confessions
5:00 pm – vigil Mass for the Epiphany

Sunday, January 2
8:30 am – Solemnity of the Epiphany
10:30 am – Solemnity of the Epiphany

As always, remember that if you can not come to Mass due to safety concerns – icy roads or inclement weather definitely count! – you are dispensed from your obligation to attend. Whether at home or together, let us pray for each other and for all those in need – especially those most affected by this cold weather.

God bless you,
Saint Mark parish

Weather advisory: Mass changes

Good evening,

Merry Christmas! We hope your holiday celebrations have been blessed and refreshing.

Due to the forecast of snow & ice, the Friday evening Mass for the Solemnity of Mary (which is not a holy day of obligation this year) is cancelled. We are tracking the weather forecast carefully – if Father Maurer decides to make any changes to the weekend schedule, they will be e-mailed to the parish, published on the parish website, and posted on the parish Facebook page by Friday at noon. Be sure to check your e-mail, the parish website and the parish Facebook page at that time (or anytime after that) before planning your weekend.

As always, remember that if you can not come to Mass due to safety concerns – such as icy roads or inclement weather – you are dispensed from your obligation to attend. We will look forward to the next time we can safely gather together in prayer and fellowship!

God bless you,
Saint Mark parish

November Pastoral Council minutes (2021-11-18)

Saint Mark pastoral council is pleased to share the minutes of the November meeting of our new pastoral council. The pastoral council meets on the third Thursday of each month.

Generally speaking, minutes will be available within five weeks of the preceding meeting – this allows the council to review the minutes, approve them with any changes, and the secretary to edit them accordingly before they are published online.
